Privilege Pay
IMPORTANT OVERDRAFT PRIVILEGE PAY INFORMATION
New regulations have been passed by the Federal Reserve Board that require all financial institutions to obtain an "Opt-In" request from all account holders to continue providing Overdraft Privilege Pay services on ATM and one-time debit card transactions.
If we do not receive your "Opt-In" request by August 15, 2010, your current overdraft services with Unity One Credit Union will no longer cover ATM or debit card transactions. Please note the new regulations do not affect your current overdraft services that are provided on your ACH or paper check transactions. Providing Unity One with your "Opt-In" request before August 15, 2010 will ensure that you do not experience any disruptions in the services you currently receive. Unity One members have the option to "Opt-In" or revoke your consent for Overdraft Privilege Pay at any time.
If you do not request to "Opt-In" for Overdraft Privilege Pay with Unity One Credit Union your ATM and one-time debit card transactions will be declined if funds are not available. All transactions will be completed with the existing policies of your account.
In order to continue receiving the Overdraft Privilege Pay service that qualified members currently receive, your "Opt-In" request is required. Opting-In to Overdraft Privilege Pay protection does not mean you will meet all required qualifications for the service. If you have questions, please contact us by calling 1-800-628-5517.
What is an overdraft?
Overdrafts occur when you do not have enough money in your account to cover a transaction. Unity One provides the following overdraft services:
1. We offer Overdraft Privilege Pay to qualified account holders.
2. We offer overdraft protection, such as a link to your share account.
Sufficient funds must be available in the share account to be activated.
3. We offer a line of credit loan to qualified borrowers.
If you would like additional information on these services, please contact the credit union.
What are the Overdraft Privilege Pay procedures if your account is overdrawn?
We will pay overdrafts up to your available overdraft limit for the following types of transactions:
· Checks and other transactions made using your checking account
· Automatic bill payments
If you do not opt-in to Overdraft Privilege Pay and you do not have sufficient funds to cover your transaction, we will decline and not pay overdrafts for the following types of transactions:
· ATM transactions
· Debit card transactions
Overdraft coverage will be available at our discretion, which means we do not guarantee that we will always authorize or pay any type of transaction. If we do not authorize and pay an overdraft, your transaction will be declined.
What fees are charged if I overdraw my account?
If we do pay the transaction with Overdraft Privilege Pay you will be charged $25 per transaction.
If we do not pay the transaction with Overdraft Privilege Pay your transaction will be declined and you will be charged $30 per transaction, plus you may be subject to merchant fees or penalties.
There is no limit to the number of total fees we can charge you for overdrawing your account.
Overdraft items will be posted according to Unity One Credit Union’s current checking account.
